Daniella Browne

Currently at UTA getting her Bachelors degree majoring in Criminal Justice and minor in Engineering

Daniellah Khayah Browne is a strong-willed, determined young lady. She was born in 2003 in St. Croix United States Virgin Island with rough beginnings but grew up to be an inspiration. Her will to survive and her dedication to try new things are astonishing. She maintains grades on the Honor Roll and the Principal’s Honor Roll, loves writing, designing, dancing, reading, singing, playing her violin, soccer, and volleyball and doing gymnastics. She is currently working on three books to be released in 2017.

Daniellah wrote Melissa Against the World when she was 11 years old and dedicated the book to “girls without voices.” She lived in Nigeria, West Africa when Boko Haram kidnapped the girls from Chibok and was devastated when Malala Yousafzai was shot by the Taliban in Pakistan because she believed that girls should have an education. Daniella believes that every girl has the right to enjoy her childhood, get an education, choose her partner, and chart her own destiny.

Daniella performed on several occasions in Nigeria and in the Calabar Dance Festival’s dance drama, The Prince of Egypt in 2012 and in 2013. She portrayed the youthful spirit of Queen Amina, the Warrior Princess of Zazzau now known as Nigeria. Queen Amina reigned during the period of 1533-1610. She was recognized for her military exploits which included controlling the trade routes, erecting networks of commerce, and commanding respect among the neighboring tribes in the region. Daniella believes that just like Queen Amina and other great female leaders, girls have the freedom of choice and this is the right time for girls to soar and chart their destinies. We are the “Next Generation of Warriors for Change.”
